Job Description
A customer service agent (CSA) is responsible for daily set up and break down of the salmon and prime rib buffet served 3 times a day for 6 different boat tours as part of Kenai Fjords Tours arriving at the island periodically through out the day.
My Daily Intern Tasks
Housekeeping is completed in the morning before noon, check out is at 8:30am. The first boat arrives at 12:45pm and the transition over to the Day Lodge includes helping prepare the buffet to serve incoming guests and clearing dishes when finished. The evening finishes with a guest campfire for overnight customers staying at the Wilderness Lodge and cleaning up the Day Lodge for close.
Requirements and Qualification Must be willing to travel and work on an island in Alaska for the duration of the summer (approximately 4 months). Previous server experience is a plus but not required. Must be able to work long hours and have good customer service skills. Has to have the ability to handle diverse clientele and multiple tasks at one time. Good time management skills are a must. Has to be able to walk down a rocky beach for work daily and lift at least 50 pounds if necessary. Achievements

Fox Island
The Day Lodge serves approximately 700 people a day and the Wilderness Lodge has 8 private cabins for overnight guests.
Housing and Benefits Customer Service Agents start out making $10.50 an hour. Housing is included and you are charged a one time deposit of $200 taken out of your first 4 checks in $50 increments for an damages or loss of equipment. If you return everything at the end of the season and have no damages you get this deposit back. If you finish the season without more than three sick days and do not end your contract early you get a bonus. Every employee has the option for a 401K plan at the beginning of hire. The company pays for housing both on the island and on the mainland in Seward, Alaska. Food is provided as part of housing on the island but you must purchase and provide your own food on the mainland. There are two refrigerators and a stove for storing items and cooking at both locations. If you prefer to bring your own food to the island you are welcome to do so. The company offers great benefits to its employees like free boat tours for any trip and for visiting friends and relatives they are also able to take any boat tour for only $20. They also provide discounts for their sister properties such as the Windsong Lodge for overnight stays with rates as low as $69 a night. KFT also has opportunities through partnerships with other organizations for Kenai Fjords employees. For example free kayaking with Sunny Cove Kayaking, free white water rafting with Nova Rafting, discounted helicopter tours, fishing excursions, and zip lining tours.
